Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How do I find my cartridges on your web site?
When you log on to our web site you will be presented with an initial page that is in Spanish. If you wish to proceed in English, click on the British flag in the upper right hand corner and the page will change to English. You will see a list of manufacturers listed across the top of the page. Click on the manufacturer of your printer and you will be taken to a page that gives you several options to find your cartridge. If you know the model number of your cartridge, for example, an Epson compatible T040120, scroll though the drop down menu labeled "ink" until you find T040120. Then Click on go and you will be taken to the page for Cartridge T040120.
If you do not know the cartridge number, but want to find it with the model number of your printer, scroll through the drop down menu labeled "Select Your Printer" until you find the model number of your printer. For example if you want to find the cartridges for an Epson Stylus C62, scroll through the list until you see the model number C62. The click on "go" and a new window will open. At the very top of that window you will see Epson Stylus C62 and two columns, one for the black cartridge and the second for the color cartridge. Click on the cartridge number and you will be taken to that cartridge's page. If you are already in our store and want to find a particular cartridge you have several options. You can browse by color (Brother, Canon, Epson, Hewlett Packard (HP), Lexmark, Okidata, and Xerox. Click on the brand of your printer and a page with the color categories of the cartridges will appear. You can then click on "Black" for example; you will be shown a list of all of the black cartridges for this particular brand. Scroll through the list until you see the model number of your cartridge. You can choose to list all of the particular cartridges for a particular manufacturer by selecting the brand in the drop down menu in the box entitled "By List".
Using our "Quick find" feature can search by the cartridge number. (OEM Part No. like C6615D. A substring like 15D will also return the same result.
If you want to use the search feature to search for your cartridge by printer model number, click on "Advanced Search". In the "Search Criteria" enter the model number you are searching for, (for example typing in "DeskJet 810C" as the model number will return the HP compatible ink cartridges C6615 (Black) and C1823D (color). Don't forget to check the box "Search in Product Descriptions". You may further refine your search by selecting the category you wish to search or all categories and/or selecting the manufacturer or all manufacturers.
If you are using our advanced search feature to search for a common model number like the Epson Stylus Color 440 for example, selecting the manufacturer "Epson" in the manufacturers box will limit your search to Epson models and reduce the number of results that feature the number "440" in the product description. With this type of search there is a chance of unneeded products being listed as well, however your most likely choice(s) will appear at the top of the list. Although our web database is continually updated, if you are still unable to find the item of your choice, please e-mail us at info@cartuchosdetinta.net

4. What is a Compatible cartridge?
A compatible cartridge is a replacement cartridge that is not manufactured by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), but by another manufacturer.

5. I am confused by the terms compatible, remanufactured and refilled. What is the difference?
"Refilled" cartridges are those that have been used once and sometimes more times and are simply filled with new ink by injection. This is a low-technology process with very poor quality standards. None of cartuchosdetinta.net products are refilled. "Compatible" cartridges are either manufactured new or are "Remanufactured" using new and recycled components. The product information page for each of our products indicates whether a product is new or remanufactured.

6. What is the Proper way to handle cartridges?
Cartridges should always be handled with care. Do not touch the nozzles or the computer chip if your cartridge contains one. You should keep your cartridges in the protective wrapping until you place them in the printer. If your cartridge contains a computer chip, never touch the chip with your fingers. Store your cartridges in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight and avoid extreme temperature changes.

7. What should be done if there are white streaks in the printouts?
First check if the cartridge is empty. If the cartridge is not empty, air may have gotten into the cartridge and the white streaks may be remedied by simply cleaning the print head one or two times. The installation method may not have been correct, reinstall the cartridge and clean the print head 1-2 times. If this does not work, try placing the cartridge on a soft tissue, allowing some ink to leak out. Allow the nozzle to then sit for a few minutes before gently wiping it with a soft tissue or cotton swab. Reinstall the cartridge, run the print head cleaning utility (described in your printer's operating manual) and attempt to print again. If white lines or streaks still occur, the print head may be damaged due to age or heavy use. If this is the case you probably need to replace the print head with a new one. Finally, your print head may be dirty. Cartuchosdetinta.net has several types of cleaning cartridges available specially designed to clean the print head. Click here to see if we have one available for your printer model.

8. What to do when cartridge's print head nozzles are blocked with dried ink?
Some HP, Lexmark, Canon and other types of cartridges contain the print head as part of the cartridge. Place the clogged nozzles of the printer cartridge in a shallow dish filled with warm water and soak them until dried ink begins to flow freely from the nozzle. After several minutes of letting the dried ink flow, remove the nozzle from the water and gently dry it with a soft tissue or cotton swab. Reinstall the cartridge and run the print head cleaning mechanism (described in your printer's operating manual). If this does not work, repeat the procedure. If your cartridge still does not print after repeating, you will need to purchase a new cartridge because the print head of your existing cartridge is probably damaged.

9. What is a cartuchosdetinta.net remanufactured cartridge? A Genuine OEM cartridge, which has been used only once, and is then professionally cleaned, refilled and tested. Some small parts that wear during the printing process may also be replaced.

10. Are all compatible or remanufactured cartridges the same?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Just like everything else, there are a few companies that only sell the highest quality products available and then there are other companies that sell cheap low quality products. All of our products are of the highest quality and most feature ink manufactured in the USA.

11. How do I know when my ink cartridges need to be replaced?
Many printers contain an Error light, which may flash or stay on when an ink cartridge is low on ink. Other newer models show you the fill level of your cartridges on your computer monitor. If you have a model with just the Error light, and it comes on, the cartridge may be empty. However, the Error light may also come on for other reasons so make sure that there isn't another problem before changing the ink cartridge. Many color cartridges contain three or more colors of ink, if the printed colors in your document appear unusual or colors you know are incorrect, this may be a sign that your cartridge is low on one or more of these colors and needs to be changed.

12. What makes cartuchosdetinta.net's cartridges better than other compatible cartridges?
A cartridge's print quality (true and vibrant colors) and the amount of pages printed per cartridge (page yield) depend on how a cartridge is made or remanufactured, materials used (inks, sponges, consumable parts, etc.) and the quality assurance testing. To save money and increase profits, some companies use cheap low quality inks and materials and do not test their products before selling them to you. Our ink materials are of the highest quality and are directly imported from the USA to ensure only the highest quality print. All of our cartridges are manufactured under rigorous ISO standards in the most modern of facilities. Each and every cartridge carries our unconditional 100% guarantee.

13. What do the letters at the end of my HP cartridge mean?
The print cartridge letters reflects two factors: the cartridge size and the geographical region in which the original cartridge is sold. All new HP cartridges with "D" or "G" in the name are only filled to one-half of the cartridge's capacity. Cartridges that end in "A" are "large" and the cartridges that end in "D" are "economy". All cartridges with the same number are interchangeable regardless of the letter "A" or "D" at the end. Our HP cartridges are always high-capacity cartridges unless we specify differently. If your cartridge is an HP C6578DL: The "D" signifies "economy" (less ink) and the "L" signifies the region Latin America. A C6578DL is fully interchangeable with a C6578DN. (D = Economy (less ink), N = North America).

14. The printer can't identify the newly installed cartridge. Why?
If your cartridge contains a chip, this may be due to touching the chip with your bare hand or to dust adhering to the chip surface; the printer can't find the cartridge. Please clean the chip with a dry tissue and reinstall the cartridge. The spring touching needle in the print head is out of alignment or damaged. The spring tablet in a printer that uses cartridges without a chip is out of alignment

15. Why is the printed picture redder than the one shown on the computer monitor? How do I solve it?
That the printed color result does not appear to be the same as appears on the monitor can be attributed to many reasons. This has something to do with computer design as well as printed pixels. In order to get a satisfactory printing result, choose the following operations from your Print menu: choose File-Print-Properties, for your printer model. From there, you will see options that allow you to manage colors in a custom fashion. Now you can select any kind of resolution by yourself.

16. The printed words have a slight blur. Why?
The paper is humid. Try replacing the humid paper with the dry paper. The print head is worn. Please repair it or replace it with a new one.

17. Why is the vertical line not straight? Why does it break into several short lines like stairs while printing?
In an HP printer, the print head is out of alignment. You should align the print head each time you change a cartridge. Choose: File - Print - Properties - Services. Then click on align print cartridge, or follow the instructions in your printers "Tool Box" or instruction manual.
Vertical alignment problems in an Epson printer may be caused by the print head knocking the edge of the printer. Paper chocking oftentimes causes this or the print head is in an inappropriate location. Follow these steps, and you can often solve the problem: choose File-Print-Property-Custom-Advanced Dialog Box-Print head adjusting.

18. The Ink is streaking. Why?
Built-up fibers are dragging through ink as it is printed. Over time, carpet and clothing fibers become attached to ink residue inside the printer. If these fibers are dragged across a page during printing, they will cause streaks on the printout.
The type of paper you are using may cause smearing. Some types of paper don't accept ink well, which causes the ink to dry more slowly and results in smearing. Try experimenting with several types of paper before you buy in large quantities. The quality of the paper you use is a critical aspect in the quality of your printed results. Poor quality paper often doesn't feed well into the printer contributing to quality problems. Make sure your printer is properly set up to print on the type of paper you are using. Many printers "Dialog box" allow you to specify the type of paper you are using.
Allow the document more time to dry before handling it. This is especially true for transparencies.

19. Printout is faded or colors are dull.
Select Normal or Best Quality in the printer driver. When printing on transparencies or other special paper types, select the corresponding paper type in the printer settings dialog box. Whenever print quality noticeably decreases, it is a good idea to perform the cleaning procedure.

20. I sometimes feel like I am not getting very many pages from my print cartridge.
Page capacity depends on many factors: resolution, coverage rate, and the number of times you clean the print head are some of the factors. Paper type can also greatly influence the number of pages you get from a cartridge. Higher resolution, large coverage rates, and more times of head cleaning, means a lower number of pages that can be printed. Many poor quality papers absorb much more ink than higher quality papers specially designed for inkjet printers. Generally the same model of our ink cartridge has the same ink volume as an original ink cartridge. With our G & G cartridges, for example, in order to ensure the volume of each cartridge, part of the quality control process includes measuring the ink volume with an electronic scale. Our web site shows page capacity for most of our printer cartridges. This capacity is based upon normal printing and a 5% page coverage rate. The volume of pages you actually get will depend greatly on the factors mentioned above.

21. Since switching to your G & G cartridges for my Epson 777 printer I feel like I get more pages from each cartridge than before. How is this possible if the cartridges contain the same amount of ink?
Our G&G T017, T018, T040, and NT041 cartridges are specially patented products, manufactured without a sponge like conventional cartridges. These products can make full use of the ink and reduce the residue of ink in the cartridge that cannot be used by the printer. Therefore, they are more environmentally friendly than many other products available in the marketplace. The fluid printing process will impress you and oftentimes results in a greater number of pages from each cartridge.

22. Why do all of the lights begin to flash when I open the printer or when the printer is in use?
The waste ink chamber is full. Please use the professional program and adjust the data to zero. Read your printer's instruction manual if you are unsure how to do this. The cartridge carrier or roll feeder may be damaged. Lubricate the Cartridge carrier, track or roll feeder. The main board in the printer may be malfunctioning. Please repair it or change to a new one.

23. Why does the computer window display that the ink volume of newly installed cartridge the same as the old empty cartridge?
The ink volume of the computer window displayed is the ink volume of the original cartridge. Please refresh the window, and then you will find the new one. The cartridge installation method is not correct. Follow the instruction and reload the cartridge.

24. While using my Epson printer the computer warns that the cartridge I am using is not original. Can we continue to use the cartridge and does it have any influence on printing quality?
The Epson Company sets the warning information. When the warning information shows click "yes or no", click "yes" and then follow the instruction. This will not influence the printing quality at all.

25. After cleaning my printer with your G&G NCL-00110 cleaning cartridge the printer still won't work, why?
The cleaning cartridge is only used to remove the slight print head clogging and to make the printing process more fluid. It cannot solve the problems caused by a damaged or worn print head. Print heads don't last forever and if the cleaning cartridge doesn't solve your problem, you probably need to install a new print head.

26. After taking the protective cover off of the Canon compatible 3e series ink cartridges the ink leaks from the ink out flowing holes. Why?
Please tear off the label first and then remove the protective cover. If you reverse the order, that will lead to ink leaking. This point is specially mentioned in the product instructions. Please follow the instructions included with the cartridge.

27. I used to print with non G&G brand cartridges, now I use your G&G products. Is it necessary to clean the print head before using your cartridges?
It all depends on the products you used before. Generally speaking, you don't need to clean the print head. Try printing first to see if the results are satisfactory. If not, you may need to clean the print head one or two times.

28. My Epson C20 printer doesn't print. It has not been used for a month, however it worked normally a month ago. Why?
When leaving a printer for a long time unused, sometimes the ink in the print head dries out. Please clean the print head and then you should be able to use the printer normally. In order to ensure the best printing quality, you should use the printer at least one time per week.

29. It seems that the page capacity of the G&G T036and T038 ink cartridges is very little. Is that true?
Yes that is true when compared with the volume of many other cartridges. Each of these black cartridges contains only 16 ml. of ink and will print approximately 350 pages at 5% coverage.

30. How do I install a new T013 and 0T014 cartridge in my Epson Color 480 printer?
Unlike Epson's other products, the Epson Color 480 printer doesn't have any button on the printer so we can't load a new cartridge in the printer by pressing a button. It can be done through the following steps; click File-Print-Property-Tools-Change cartridge.

31.The printer can't print out after the cartridge is loaded in the printer. Why?
The yellow label is not torn off. Please tear off the yellow label and reload the cartridge. The cartridge was filled with air during installation. Please clean the print head to eliminate the air. The print head is too old to use or damaged. Please repair the print head or change a new one.

32. When using T027 ink cartridge in my Epson Stylus photo 820, the printed result is different from the computer screen displayed. Why?
If nozzle-testing results show that the line is not continuous. Please conduct print head cleaning until the testing result shows normal. Use the color management. Follow the following steps: click File-Print-Properties-Custom-Advance-Color Control. Now you can adjust the color according to your needs. Thus the printed result will be much better.

33.The height of the Canon compatible 3e series ink cartridges is lower than OEM products. Does this mean that the ink volume is less than OEM products?
Since the ink tank of the 3e series cartridges is wider than OEM products, the ink volume is exactly the same as the OEM product.

34. When installing the Canon compatible BC-10 ink cartridge to my Canon BJC-50 printer, I find that the cartridge is too big to install. Why?
Since both the BCI-10 and BCI-11Bk ink cartridges can be used in the Cannon BJC-50 printer, you need to choose the cartridge appropriate for the type of print head you have in your printer. This situation may also occur with other Canon series printers. So when you choose your Canon cartridge, please pay attention to the print head you have installed in your printer.

35. After installing a set of cartridges in my Epson Stylus Photo 950 printer, the printer won't print. Why?
This problem can oftentimes be solved through the following steps. Open the main window or status monitor in tools, then check the state of cartridge. If the warning information shows X, please take out of the cartridge and reload it in the printer. The spring touching needle in the print head is out of alignment or damaged. Please repair it or change a new one.

36. When a new Epson compatible S020193 cartridge is loaded to my Epson EX3 printer, after I printed one or two pages, the computer warns that the ink has run out. At the same time the printer won't print. Why?
The spring tablet is not working. Please change to a new one. The cartridge protecting cover is loose. Remove the print head and press the cover tightly. If cover is distorted please replace it with a new one.

37. When I load an HP compatible 51626 cartridge in the printer, all the lights begin to flash. Why?
There are small ink drops or dust on the surface of the cartridge chip. Please clean the chip with tissue paper and reinstall the cartridge. The spring touching needle in the print head sticks due to contamination or it is damaged. Please clean the needle or repair it.

38. I changed the yellow cartridge in my Epson Stylus C82 and it does not print. Why?
Please follow the installation instructions completely. Do not touch the chip with your bare hand. Please don't squeeze the cartridge after peeling off the yellow label and install the cartridge immediately. For the C82 printer, please remove the blue part before peeling off the yellow label. After installing, if the printer cannot recognize the cartridge reinstall it until it shows "ok". When the cartridge is installed, the computer will display a message saying, "This is not an Epson product." Please click yes to continue. If you click "No" by mistake your cartridge will not function. Reinstall the cartridge and make certain you click "yes". To insure best printing results, please run the nozzle check after installation. If the nozzle check is not satisfactory, please clean the nozzle until you get a satisfactory result.

39. When I try to change the yellow ink cartridges in my Epson Multifuncional CX5200, the old cartridge is too far to the right to remove. Why?
Make sure you follow the manufacturers instructions for changing the ink cartridges. Be certain that the CX5200 is turned on and is not printing. The control panel will tell you which ink cartridge is low or empty. Press the Menu button until you see "Change Cartridge" and then press the "Copy" button. The ink cartridges will move to the center. Do not attempt to move the cartridges to the center manually as you can damage your printer. Lift up the cover. Pinch the tabs on the front and back of the old cartridge; lift it out of the printer, and dispose of it. Before you remove the new cartridge from its package, shake it gently four or five times. Unwrap the new ink cartridge and lower it into its holder, then press down on the top of the cartridge until it clicks in place. Caution: Don't touch the chip of the cartridge; this may inhibit abnormal operation and printing. If you accidentally touch the chip and the cartridge does not function, clean the chip gently with a soft tissue or cotton swab. If you need to replace other ink cartridges, repeat the steps above before continuing. Carefully lower the CX5200 cover and press it down until it clicks into place. The CX5200 will begin charging the ink delivery system. The "On" light will flash and the CX5200 will make noise. The charging process takes about 25 seconds. When it is finished, the "On" light will stop flashing and stay on. Never turn off the Epson Stylus CX5200 while the "On" light is flashing, unless the Stylus CX5200 hasn't moved or made noise for more than 5 minutes.

40. I use my Epson printer mostly for printing black only. Can I still print in black if a color cartridge is empty or visa versa?
On most models you cannot print at all if any ink cartridge is empty. Leave the empty cartridge installed in the printer until you have obtained a replacement, otherwise the ink remaining in the print head nozzles may dry out. It's best to always have an extra cartridge on hand. It is never a good idea to leave an empty cartridge in the printer for an extended period of time. This is because ink may dry in the print head causing future printing problems. Whenever your cartridge is empty it is always a good idea to change to a new one as soon as possible.

41. The printer is out of color ink even though I print mostly only in black. Why does this happen?
To keep the print head clear, the printer uses a small amount of ink from all the cartridges whenever it prints. Even if you print Black Only, a slight amount of color ink is still being used

42. Can I use your ink cartridges without voiding the warranty on my printer?
None of the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) will recommend refilling or using 3rd party ink cartridges, for obvious reasons. However, using our products will not void your printer's original warranty. Most countries have laws in effect allowing you to choose the type of cartridge you choose to use without fear of voiding your warranty.
